Under the tracking process, health officials determine who the patients had contact with recently, where they work and where they visited.
Those that are found to have had contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case will be notified by the PCDOH and precautionary or mandatory quarantine will be established for each person, the department said.
The two are among 69 new COVID-19 cases in New York the last 24 hours, bringing the statewide total to 729.

The two individuals in Putnam have been quarantined at home and will continue to be monitored carefully, the health department said.
